Senior Recital

Senior Recital

Background

As a Musical Theatre Major in the Theatre Film & Media Arts department of Temple University, Blake Levinson would normally not be allowed a senior recital, as that is a privilege only granted to Musical & Vocal Performance majors within the Boyer College of Music & Dance. However, in the Fall of 2024, Levinson, & his private vocal professor, Daniel Neer, petitioned to the College of Music for an exception. At the grace of Dr. Paul Rardin, Dr. Rachelle Fleming, & others, Levinson was granted the opportunity to perform a non-degree dependent recital due to his unwavering commitment to the College of Music through the Temple University Concert Choir & Graduate Conductors Chorus.

Where the Waves Takes Me acts as the spiritual capstone of Levinson’s years at Temple University, and exemplifying Levinson’s undying love and fascination with water, also serves as a reminder that you never know where life will take you next. Levinson is ecstatic to take this newfound journey into the unknown.

At this recital, Levinson will showcase a multitude of pieces ranging from all four years of his Undergraduate degree, as well as a world debut of two new pieces from his upcoming musical Logos Divine. To be announced at this recital is the release date for the upcoming EP, Selections from Logos Divine: A Musical Opera.

BFA Musical Theater student Blake Levinson presents a student recital in Rock Hall Auditorium, accompanied by Gina Giachero.
